NFL Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Performance Seals Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a safety in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to drive for a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn commented following the contest.
